COMING UP AT COUNTRY DAY: April 17-21

A THOUGHT TO CONSIDER …

"Don't think too much. Breathe. Go for it!"

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that our own Daniel Hough placed in the top 20 in the Junior National Freestyle Skiing Championships last week? When asked how he prepares to nail his tricks, he responded with the above words of wisdom.

NEST MISSION MOMENT

Check out our amateur bird watchers! Our kiddos are using keen observation skills as they gaze at our world through binoculars.

ELEMENTARY MISSION MOMENT

Chuk the therapy dog will be making occasional appearances in the elementary classes to help with reading, activities, and the general "calm" in classrooms. When students read to Chuk it provides reading practice, self-esteem building, and association of reading with something pleasant. Students relax, pet Chuk, and focus on their tasks more happily. Welcome Chuk and owner/trainer Mishelle Prouty!

MIDDLE SCHOOL MISSION MOMENT

Eighth grade science is embarking on a unit of study all about electricity. More specifically, electricity generated by photovoltaic cells. We are working to engineer solar racer cars that will be powered solely with solar panels. These cars will compete in a speed race, as well as a tractor pull where cars will be challenged to pull a weighted sleigh. This project provides students with an opportunity to explore gear ratios and how they affect speed and torque.

Kids' Night Out-April Showers is tomorrow, Friday, April 14. Please click HERE to sign up. Kids' Night Out is a monthly, theme-based event for kids ages 3-12 who are fully potty trained. It will be held monthly on Friday evenings from 6-9 PM. It is a great opportunity for you as parents to get a much needed break while your children enjoy a fun-filled night with teachers who they already know, love, and trust: Ms. Perez and Ms. Boone!

Bring a Buddy to School

Evergreen Country Day is kicking off spring with our Bring a Buddy to School month! Every Wednesday in April students are invited to bring a buddy to school for the day to experience our school's magic. Please let your child's teacher know the date of the visit and the buddy's name as we continue to share the transformational things that happen at Evergreen Country Day with the greater community. Please contact Christine Vinarcsik with any questions.
